Kristin Meuser was born in Oakland, attended UC Berekeley and graduated with a degree in Art and Political Science and received the Dean’s Award for Painting. She moved to New York in 1975 to learn more about what graffiti artists and other socially motivated artists were doing. She led art workshops with women inmates at Riker’s Island Prison and at the end of three months their art was shown at St. John the Divine in NY.
When she returned to San Francisco, she studied graphic design and pursued for 35+ years (and still do), enjoying working for clients and helping them bring their vision to life. Also during this time her interest turned to watercolor paintings of landscapes which evolved into teaching watercolor nature journaling workshops which she currently leads in Northern CA and Las Vegas along with pursuing her abstract sewing work.
