Five Art Teachers and Their Students

May 7 - May 29, 2021

May 7 - May 29, 2021

Opening Reception:
First Friday, May 7th, 6-10 PM

“Creativity is contagious,” Albert Einstein once observed, “pass it on!”

How do artists get their start and hone their craft? Art teachers, through their skills instruction and supportive direction, play a significant role in the development of emerging artists.

In this spirit, from Friday, May 7 through Saturday, May 29, 2021, Priscilla Fowler Fine Art Gallery will present a unique shared exhibit of artwork, Five Art Teachers and Their Students.

The five distinguished art teachers in the show include Daniel Mauk of the Helen C. Cannon Junior High School (student artists: Aa'Leiyah Brown and Christopher Sanchez); Natalie Delgado of the Las Vegas Arts Academy (student artists: Emily Garb, Hailey O’Halloran, Elizabeth Skarlatos); Brian Hoover from Southern Utah University (student artists: Ginny Fielding, Mallory Sanders, Christa Van Horne); Frederic Bonin-Pissarro from the UNLV Art Department (student artists: Cynthia Hamika, Catherine Jaggi, Cameron Sardina, Nicholas Susie, Nanako Wakley,  Allyson Winchester); and Cheryl Magellen, private art instructor (student artists: Carol Johnson, Julie Tarsha, Linda VanHorn).

At the exhibit’s Opening Reception on Friday, May 7 from 6 pm to 10 pm, artists will be on hand to discuss their work with gallery visitors.  (Note: the gallery opens at 12 noon that day.)
